An independent poetry press based in Nanaimo, BC that specializes in queer, transgender, womenโs, neuยญroยญdiยญverยญgent, and emerging voices in poetry. Weโre curยญrentยญly looking for an Associate Editor to join our editorial board. Weโre open to considering all folks with education in the Humanities (fields such as English, literature, and languages); past experience with writing, editing, or publishing is a plus. While we don't require formal experience in the industry, the ideal candidate would be professional, dependable, and extremely passionate about the art form of poetry and about uplifting marginalized voices. โฑ Respond to incoming manuscripts durยญing open submission periods
โฑ Work closely with authors to set exยญpectations and develop submissions
โฑ Take part in peer reviews, editorial disยญcussions, and monthly staff meetings (during open subยญmisยญsion periods)
โฑ Co-develop publishing processes, workยญflows, and guidelines together with the editorial board
โฑ Represent and support the press at litยญerary events such as poetry readings, book fairs, and book launches
