Reporting to the Marketing Coordinator, the Volunteer Videography Team is responsible for the creation, editing, and delivery of VIFF’s video materials.

Duties to include (but not limited to):
• Recording Q&As and special events
• Editing videos for promotional purposes and sponsor activation
• Proper logging of video material for archiving
• Delivering raw and/or edited footage by set deadlines

Qualifications:
• Must have your own video, audio and editing equipment
• Must have the skill and experience necessary to properly operate your video and audio recording equipment in a fast-paced environment
• Must have the skill and experience necessary to properly edit your own footage into a finished video (including music and/or logos) by a set deadline (often fast turnaround)
• Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative, show good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end
• Must demonstrate exceptional ability to manage details, multitask, meet deadlines and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor around staff and guests of the Festival
• Must demonstrate reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience shooting documentary-style footage will be considered a strong asset
• Flexible availability to cover a wide range of shifts. Must have evening and weekend availability

Please submit these three items:
• Links to videos that you have made or been part of making. Please specify what your role was on each of the videos (i.e. director, camera operator, editor, interviewer etc.) Documentary style videos, preferably with synchronized sound, will be considered a strong asset
• Your CV, which should highlight your videomaking experience and/or education
• A list of all your video/audio equipment. In addition to your camera, please include any tripod, audio recording device, mics, lights and/or other useful items you have that might open up opportunities for special assignments during the festival

Volunteer Commitment: minimum 4 events (including capturing, editing and delivery of videos)

For volunteers who are 16 and 17, this pass allows you access to any classified films. Please note that under BC classification law, you must be 18 or older to view unclassified films.
