Homework Club, Now in it's 9th year, requires volunteers/mentors
We need dedicated volunteers for a homework club that serves the local South Vancouver community for free.
Mentors/volunteers work one-to-one with students from grades 4 to 12 to provide supports with homework and to assist students to develop strategies for reading, writing, grammar, sciences, and math skills. Our aim is to assist students to work through problems, and find a solution, rather than providing them with the answers.

Our FREE program has been running for nine years, but we need more volunteers to continue serving our growing group. Sessions run every Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm.
Our term starts Thursday September 19th to June 25th 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Tutors must have excellent written, reading, and spoken English skills. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently completing their Bachelors degree, or are in graduate school. A criminal record check and personal interview will be conducted. Tutors must be 19 years or older.

Benefits: Opportunity to network with like volunteers, reference letters, networking, and valuable experience. The experience will give you a great opportunity to apply your working teaching philosophy and apply teaching principles/theories in action with students in grades 4 to 12.
