Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician with 3+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, and network infrastructure. Your expertise in installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting cabling systems will ensure our clients receive top-tier service.
Key Responsibilities
β Install and maintain structured cabling infrastructure, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optics.
β Perform fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting for high-performance connectivity.
β Set up and mount network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and server room equipment.
β Conduct site surveys, installations, terminations, labeling, and testing per project specifications.
β Follow blueprints and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
β Provide technical support and customer service, addressing client inquiries professionally.
β Complete detailed documentation, including safety and OHS checks, test results, and as-builts.
β Ensure compliance with industry and safety standards.
β Travel out of town when required for projects.
Qualifications
πΉ Minimum 3+ years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, or low-voltage systems.
πΉ Proficiency in pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
πΉ Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR, and Fluke testing tools (preferred).
πΉ Familiarity with access control, CCTV, AV, and wireless network installations.
πΉ Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 50 lbs.
πΉ Valid Driverβs License with a clean driving record (required).
πΉ Must have own vehicle.
πΉ Bondable and able to pass a background check.
πΉ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
πΉ Strong communication and customer service abilities.
