I bought this van a few years ago with an undisclosed problem needing what is called a Toyota Previa SADS repair.
I have linked repair videos regarding the problem.
When the car comes to a red light stop for example, an accessory drive shaft has come lose or deteriorated to the point of touching the surrounding housing so it makes a clinging sound but stops when the car is put into neutral or at times just turning on the fan or air conditioning alone will change the shafts rotation spin and the clinging stops.
The van also drips oil slightly which I think is from what is called the valve cover needing a new gasket. Not being a mechanic I was able to do this on my other Previa, so its not a hard repair job.
Only after purchasing I noticed the gauge cluster is of an American mph (but with smaller text km also included) display cluster and it also has day time headlights turn on from the first twist of the key, making me think this car is an American import. We relayed this cluster information to the Autoplan location were we originally paid for the car but havent heard anything of it since.
the windshield has very large cracks in it
the bumper isnt secured properly with large wood screws used, one edge has a rip
The middle side door handle lever is broken off but its easy to reach inside to open it
There are minor dents and scrapes along the left side body behind the drivers door
The features of this van;
very low rust from what I can see
it has a strong engine and accelerates fast ( I have experienced driving 3 different Previa's so far)
The cold air conditioning works
It appears maybe the front suspension parts were upgraded from stock
it has a rear bumper hitch attachment to tow things or attach rear storage.
the car is a mid engine layout with rear wheel power, making driving pleasurable and with a high mounted suv visibility
updated stereo
remote lock/unlock fob
Not working... the Toyota ice box cooler in the middle console... used for storage instead
-the car is one of the most reliable made in the world -the internet has documented many that have driven over 600km
-common parts are a many and often very cheap and easy to install
-there's a great online community to help diagnose problems and source parts
if anyone is interested to lookup its VIN number for its history, let me know and Ill find out
test drives are welcome and the insurance to do so will run out in less then a month... so by that time if you pay the gas money we can take the van to a mechanic of your choice and charge prior to deciding on a purchase.
Makes for a great solarium when parked in the backyard and getting direct sun with the rear sunroof glass fully opened to get vitamin d.
The opening also lets one cook food in the bbq (fits small green propane canisters) while venting the smoke and smell outside (carbon monoxide detector should still be used)
A mini tent can also be propped over the sunroof so that one can stand up inside the van, and in private when using the sink.
The wood flooring is the only heavy luxury of this van build but everything else is light like the very thick cardboard couch that comes with a leather clothes bag as a back rest.
This couch rests on a very study metal and wood toilet\bidet (needs to be chained down for crash safety when driving) and the couch also acts as a wall to contain water drops if showering.
foot pedal operated water sink\shower head
2 month old large capacity battery with a second somewhat compact 12 volt sealed one for the interior
glass water pitcher and wood protective cover
*I have prepped a one piece, continuous cotton sheet curtain and fixture mounts as pictured in my brown Previa that I can transfer over.
*Also pictured on my brown van is a backup camera and a "gray" tank (blue water bottle) which I will install over
The blue carpeting in the back has a base of natural latex and a straw material woven into a rug
I was experimenting with natural milk paints colouring the inside hubs white and to keep it none toxic... I only did a few layers but havent completed it yet. When I started I had left over paint for the day so I painted the front and back bumper without preparing the surface and it has left this vintage looking colour that Ive kept on it.
If you want the van only with stock previa wheels , the updated stereo, and trailer attachment included I would sell it for $3500.
