Calkins & Burke Ltd. is hiring for a full-time position as an Order Desk Representative in our Import Foods department.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for order desk and customer related inquiries for sales to Canadian retail and foodservice customers.
- Reviewing and processing customer purchase orders for pricing and delivery dates
- Communicating with customers, warehouse representatives, truckers, internal sales team and accounts receivable about the order status
- Creating delivery orders and sending them to warehouses for processing
- Invoicing shipped orders to customers – matching bill of ladings to shipping documents, correcting discrepancies
- Ensuring bills are sent to accounts payable and proper documentation is provided
- Approving and processing of short payments from customers
- Filing orders and invoices once completed
- Providing general administrative support to the department as needed
Qualifications:
- Able to handle customer issues in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
- Strong attention to details and deadlines, be able to multi-task and use common sense
- Able to work well independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment
- Effective communication and customer service skills in both verbal and written – be able to build strong relationships with customers, service providers and co-workers.
- Be proactive - takes initiative to perform tasks and ask questions when necessary
- Able to work well under pressure and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Takes pride in closure of orders and small projects
- Order desk experience in food industry would be an asset
- Post-secondary education with certificate in logistics or customer service would be beneficial
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central)
