Samples of my playing, writing and singing provided below.
I'm a singer/songwriter with a lot of experience playing live and in the studio. I'm wanting to form a band that combines the genres mentioned in the posting title. If you too have experience recording and playing live and can bring something to the table on your instrument I'd love to hear from you. I'd also be open to joining a project where my skill sets can be put to use. If you have a band idea that is somewhat aligned with what I'm proposing, by all means tell me about it.
Music I love...
Big Thief, Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Big Star, Iron and Wine, Ray Lamontagne, Lucinda Williams, Hermanos Gutierrez, Cate Le Bon, Wilco, Aldous Harding, Lera Lynn, Fleet Foxes, Nick Drake, Grizzly Bear
I have lots of material all ready for great instrumentalists to step in to add their flavour to my ideas. Vocalists welcome for backups and unison singing. Alternatively, if you have a band in these genres or if you're a singer/songwriter and need a guitarist/singer and/or would like to add piano/keys, I'd be up for that as well. I'm looking for musicians who are fairly advanced.
These short samples are mostly unfinished ideas waiting to be developed. You can get a sense of my writing, playing and singing. I do have a DAW and I'm decent at recording but these are all recorded on my phone while writing.

This next track is the same song as the previous clip (different title) but it's the whole guitar part to the song played on its own. You can hear how the song evolves.

These next two samples are me improvising. These are both recorded on my phone. The first track is me playing guitar and improvising the vocals. I start with a few lyrics in mind and just throw them in when it feels right and the rest of the words are just stream of consciousness. When jamming with musicians, I find this method helpful to move the writing process alongs so we have vocals to work with even if the lyrics aren't fully written.
The second track is me improvising the melodic guitar part and vocals over top of another guitarists chord progression. I'm including this sample because it's a little closer to some of Big Thiefs louder electric songs. Chris, whose chord progression it is starts playing and I jump in. My guitar was in an alternate tuning when I grabbed it so it took me a minute to figure out where the right notes were. After I got the lay of the land I was comfortable improvising to create some themes we could go back and listen to to write a song with. I start singing about 2 minutes into the recording.

If you're fairly accomplished on your instrument and would like to help me put some songs together (not necessarily these tracks) or think I could help enhance your music, hit me up. I have a rehearsal space with pianos/keys, amps, PA etc.
