Great value for a small studio or a live venue, this set includes a Mackie 1604VLZ4 Analog Mixer, 2x Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 audio interface (16in/16out via ADAT connection), Firewire PCI card (Texas Instruments chipset), 10ft shielded Firewire cable, ADAT cable, and cable snakes for connecting between the mixer and the interface's inputs and outputs.
This is a full setup for recording, just pop the firewire card into any machine running Windows 8,10 (11 works but requires some finessing), or your Mac, plug your instruments into the mixer, and route into your DAW.
You can run this mixer in an 8 channel split mode or use the direct outs to use your DAW to track a 16 channel recording session. This thing is well featured for routing with returns, sends, submixes, auxes... the works. The mixer comes with a Decksaver for protection in the studio or live venues.
This setup worked great for me for many years, at one point it was GREAT as a dedicated drum recording rig, but I'm shifting my focus to more field based recording and am majorly downsizing.
I'll also include a Mackie BigKnob for monitoring control, allowing you to control the monitor volume level at your desk (rather than at the mixer) and allows for routing a second set of monitors to check your mix.
