I am an RCM Certified Classical Guitar and Music Theory Teacher, also Suzuki Certified for Comprehensive All levels of Classical Guitar in America. With more than 45 years of experience and hundreds of students have successfully passed RCM exams. I am also the founder of Comprehensive RCM Classical Guitar Education and a member of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Society and Tonebase.
This program offers classes in:
Instrument lessons: Classical Guitar:
From the Preparatory Level to the Associate Diploma (ARCT), Performer Level in Classical Guitar, following the curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). The focus is on music theory, technique, musicianship: ear training, sight reading, and performance.
RCM Music Theory:
Preparatory Level-Level 4 AND
Intermediate Level: Level 5-8.
The program accepts students as young as 6 years old and up.
RCM Music History 9 and 10 is a general overview of music history based on four historical style periods – the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras. Students will study on biographical information of the representative composer, their compositional style, and selected works from the above eras.
Examinations taken through The RCM Certificate Program are eligible for secondary school credit in every province in Canada! Empower yourself to maximize your high school journey — whether that means exploring additional classes or securing extra study time.
How many credits do you get from RCM? Students have the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments and to be encouraged to continue their music education through high school. Passing RCM 6 (with associated theory) gives you a high school grade 10 credit. Passing RCM 7 (with associated theory) gives you a high school grade 11 credit. Passing RCM 8 (with associated theory) gives you a high school grade 12 credit.
All students enrolled in the Comprehensive RCM Classical Guitar and Music Theory Education Program have a 100% success rate in passing all levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music Classical Guitar and Music Theory with the median score above of 90%.
Classes are organized:
Primarily, The teacher comes to your home (the teacher is vaccinated against Covid-19 five times and has received the seasonal Flu vaccine)
At the Teacher’s Music Studio
Via Microsoft Teams/ Zoom - video conferencing
All active students are offered the opportunity to participate in the Classical Guitar Student Virtual Live Recital every three months. They also get a free access to the My Music Staff Student Portal for easy access to student management features such as calendar, assignments, RCM resources, and much more.
