Our boutique litigation law firm is looking for a legal assistant to support one lawyer with his paperless practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can work productively by telecommuting.
This position could be arranged as full time work for a junior legal assistant who is looking to build skills, or as part time work for a more experienced paralegal.
Initial job duties will include:
-Organize and maintain documents in an electronic filing system.
-Arrange evidence and other legal documents in an evidence management system (Casemap) for document discovery and case preparation.
-Schedule appointments and hearing dates.
-Organize and maintain book-keeping records for monthly review and reconciliation by external accountant.
-Print and bind application records from electronic documents for filing with court and serving other parties.
Minimum job requirements:
1. Typing 60 w.p.m.
2. Home computer with high-speed internet.
3. Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
4. One year experience working at an office in an administrative or book-keeping role; or LAA certificate from accredited institution.
5. Tech savvy:
-Can you recognize and avoid scams/malware?
-Can you customize WORD 2016 settings?
-If you want to do something technical that you have never done before, are you able to figure out how to do it by internet searches?
