ATTN MOMS!: Birth, Childhood health, and psychosis outcomes (Vancouver)

Does your adult child have schizophrenia? If so, and you are interested in participating in a research study about factors that may influence schizophrenia please contact us!

PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY:
To determine how prenatal and birth events may be involved in the emergence of psychotic disorders later in life.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We are seeking mothers of offspring between the ages of 16-45 years of age who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
A 30-45 minute interview administered by a research assistant, in person or by telephone, consisting of the following 3 qualitative questionnaires:
• Obstetric complications during pregnancy and birth
• Childhood development of affected offspring
• Physical and mental health of offspring prior to formal diagnosis of schizophrenia
