The Hospitality Manager - Beverage will be responsible for ensuring product availability, quality, cost
effectiveness, compliance, control and service for all beverages served throughout the unit.
The Hospitality Manager - Beverage oversees the daily operations of the beverage program by directing
and supervising all employee activities within bars, lounges, stands and other outlets where beverages
are served and ensures that standards and policies for responsible alcoholic beverage service are
enforced.
Position Purpose -The Hospitality Manager - Beverage will be responsible for inventory controls, menu design and staffing
within each beverage location. They are responsible for ensuring maximum customer service
satisfaction by developing, implementing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures. They
will oversee effective hiring, training and performance evaluation of all beverage personnel. They will
work with the Catering and Banquets departments to ensure that Sodexo Live!’s financial and revenue
objectives for the beverage operation are met through a focus on product education for sales growth
and successful identification of expense reduction through cost efficiency.
Major Responsibility: Maximize Sodexo Live!’s revenue and operational excellence through
implementation and oversight of systems and policies related to Beverage operations.
Supporting Actions:
• Achieves Beverage operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to
strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production,
productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits;
identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
• Meets Beverage financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures;
analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Purchase day-to-day items at the most cost effective pricing.
• Monitors, establishes and maintains liquor par stocks by outlet and oversees monthly inventory
counts as well as random spot check inventories.
• Coordinates required beverage services for all outlets to keep inventory within established
guidelines.
• Implement corporate sales promotion programs and develop and implement local sales
promotions in the lounges and bars.
• Oversee end-to-end beverage operations for all concession stands, bars, kiosks, specialty carts, and
portable units across the stadium.
• Design and implement beverage service models that maximize speed of service, throughput, and per-cap
revenue.
• Lead seasonal menu launches, early-bird offerings, LTOs, and sponsor-driven beverage programs.
• Ensure flagship bars are presented appropriately on an agreed upon standard
Major Responsibility: Contributes to the efficient operation of business unit by partnering with Catering
Director; provides information, insight, analysis, and recommendations to maximize revenues and profits.
Supporting Actions:
• Maintains adequate coverage for optimum service as well as the avoidance ofunnecessary
overtime.
• Inspects all beverage outlets daily for cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
• Implement and enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance
of kitchen and/or dining areas.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety and responsible alcoholic beverageservice
regulations.
• Confer with Catering department regarding problem areas; Make recommendations forincreasing
efficiency and for changing procedures.
• Maximize cost effectiveness within the department by ensuring compliance withestablished
budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.
Major Responsibility: Provide leadership and direction to beveragestaff.
Supporting Actions:
• Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning,
scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating jobexpectations;
planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing
compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper service of alcohol per current state guidelines and Sodexo Live! policies and
procedures.
• Motivate and coach the beverage team to be customer-focused, innovative, fast andteamoriented in their work.
• Prioritize the workload and play an active role in training staff on all aspects ofproduct
knowledge.
• Monitor duties according to Sodexo Live! procedure for opening and closing beverage outlets.
• Observe, model and coach beverage team on all guest service standards, suggestive sellingand
up-selling techniques.
• Have a visible presence in beverage outlets. Continually observe surroundings and monitor team
interactions with customer to ensure highest levels of service.
• Intervene in instances of guest dissatisfaction. Work diligently to resolve issues and address their
concerns so that no guest leaves unhappy.
• Reinforce safe work habits as a priority within the department and ensure that employees follow
all safety rules, guidelines and policies.
• Maintain positive, on-going communication with Catering, Culinary, Banquets andother
department heads.
• Analyze BEO’s and event history to ensure staffing for maximum customer satisfactionwithin
required financial goals
• If applicable, study, comprehend and apply all staffing needs in accordance with any Collective
Bargaining Agreement; Confer with GM and Human Resources department for accurate
interpretation.

• Perform training functions for Company personnel on matters relating to thebeverage
department.
• Participate in and foster positive team relations with inter and intra departmental team members.
• Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience to facilitate
on-the-job effectiveness.
• 3-5 years of senior level food and beverage management experience within a complex, multifaceted operation such as a large-scale hotel, high quality convention center, etc.
• 2-4 years of previous beverage management experience strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts and be available as business demands require.
• Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with property management systems such as a Banquet
Event Order Software.
Preferred:
• Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and
participate in team environment concepts.
• Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards.
• Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who
can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively
Other Requirements:
Requires lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to work in extremes of
cold and heat. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
