Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Carriage Stable Hand
Seeking: Motivated, hardworking people who love working with horses and helping people. Able to work without supervision.
Terms of Employment: Almost Year-round, Full Time right away and Part Time starting Now, Occasional Overtime, Weekends, days and up to 6:00pm.
Position available to start ASAP.
Salary: $17.00 hourly during training. Ranging from $18.00 and up once training is complete. 40 Hours per week or less if preferred, overtime in mid-summer.
Location: Stanley Park and Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia
Experience: Will train, preference given to those that have experience with horses.
Language: Must speak, read and write English fluently. As we are in the tourism industry staff may encounter people with many different language backgrounds so having different languages is helpful but being able to understand and speak English well is the most important thing.
Duties: Cleaning the barn and grooming the horses. Occasionally interacting with clients in a helpful and friendly manner. We do some cross-training with the other positions in our company.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, sweeping/cleaning area, carrying moderate loads short distances.
Essential Skills: Problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, continuous learning.
Other: Non-smoking work environment. Duties are outdoors and include horse-care. Preference given to those with related experience.
