Short story: After running and brick and mortar store in another city for 25 years, I started selling online from home about seven years ago and have since amassed an active inventory consisting of:
- about 1500 new/sealed LP titles, including some hard to find, out of print titles and major label inventory purchased at less than current wholesale prices, multiple copies of some titles bringing total units to +/-2000 pieces
- about 220 7" vinyl singles, new and used, multiple copies of some titles
- about 800 used LPs, including a fair number of A-stock titles
- about 2000 CD titles, including about 820 new/sealed titles, 500 A-stock used titles and the rest...
- about 85 cassette titles, mostly new and sealed
- 40 or so major box sets, some LP, some CD/DVD etc
- some new DVD music titles and used DVD movies/TV/etc
- a selection of promo posters and so forth
- a few fixtures, ie large cassette storage shelves and Ikea block shelves as pictured
All this is for sale, winner take all, looking for actual cost on the new inventory and VERY reasonable cost on all the used stuff, which is generally in fine, saleable condition. I haven't done the math on value but it would be fair to say it's in the $50K range with everything included.
