Selling my 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback (final model year of this body).
~173,000 km and rising (I am using it as my daily driver until it is sold). About half of my ownership has been highway miles. Desirable 6-speed manual transmission - no need to stress about the automatics which are notorious for needing rebuilds!
Great, reliable daily commuter. Owned it for almost 4 years. I'm the second owner. Oil change 2x year. Always regularly maintained.
Pros:
- Meticulously maintained
- Aftermarket bluetooth and wired carplay/android auto head unit. Works great with your phone and modernizes interior.
- Aftermarket sound system - sounds great!
- No accidents* (see cons about front bumper)
- Clean title
- 2-owner
- 2 keys
- Much more reliable manual transmission
- Great on gas
- Reliable
- Cheap maintenance
- Interior is in excellent condition
- Besides the front bumper, the rest of the body is mint
- SO much interior space! It's way more spacious and practical than the size suggests. Very comfortably fits 5 adults and I've fit things in the trunk that should not have fit
Cons:
- Biggest flaw is probably the front bumper, as you can see. I bumped into a trailer hitch at 5km/h and it left a square shaped hole. I have not bothered to make a claim and am not going to. I'm happy to leave the license plate cover there and live with it personally. Selling as is.
- Couple of tiny paint chips on driver side door
- Rear tires low (very cheap to replace)
Maintenance during my ownership (I have all service records):
- Oil change every ~6 months
- Regular fluid/filter changes
- Fuel system serviced
- New front tires (rears still decent)
- New rear brakes (entire assembly. Fronts still fine)
- New rear shocks (fronts replaced already during recall before my ownership)
- New mass airflow sensor and cleaned throttle body (to address the common P0101 code - light occasionally still comes on and off but I have been reassured that the issue has been resolved and it goes away on its own)
- Soon to be replaced serpentine belt (sometime in the next week from posting this ad)
Other than regular maintenance the car has been very reliable and cheap to run. Would make a great first car or perfect for someone wanting to learn manual.
