Cheap on fuel, reliable, and fun to drive. This 24-year-old Beetle isn’t perfect — if you’re expecting a showroom car, please don’t waste my time. It’s a solid daily that starts every time, drives great, and costs less to run than you probably spend on coffee or booze in a month, and on a dry day its fun to pull off the line.
If you want to make it perfect, that’s up to you. At this price, it’s a dependable, torquey little diesel that goes from A to B without fuss.
Upgrades / Good Stuff:
ALH 1.9L TDI engine – legendary for reliability & mileage
EGR deleted – cleaner intake, better performance
VNT-17 turbo upgrade – stronger boost, faster response
Bosio DLC .520 injector nozzles – more torque & efficiency
KermaTDI performance tune – tuned for power & economy
3-bar MAP sensor – supports higher boost safely (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON FROM THIS)
VR6/G60 clutch kit – recently installed, handles the power
New battery
Straight-pipe exhaust – sounds great, flows better

New starter, New Caliper in rear, and new rear brakes

The BAD:
Tailpipe hanger just broke
Door locks, hatch, and windows fuse went and they wont lock or go up.
The current seats have rips, and that is why I have the replacement seats
Headliner is a bit dirty. nothing a carpet clean cant handle.
Comes with extra tan cloth seats
Drives great, pulls hard, and sips diesel — around 900+ km per tank. Perfect commuter or project car.
Why selling: I have other vehicle to fix up.
