Are you a dog lover? Do you dream of spending your days surrounded by dogs? Do you have a valid drivers license? (Must Have!)
Vancouver Dog walkers has part time positions available that may lead to full time positions. This position offers a pay rate of up to $20 per hour, based on experience and skill level. While we prefer candidates with prior experience, we will also seriously consider those who believe they have a natural talent for managing a pack of dogs off-leash.
To succeed in this role, you must possess an exceptional ability to Intensely study the body language of multiple dogs simultaneously and interpret their signals skillfully enough to prevent potential altercations before they occur. We pride ourselves on our strong safety record and aim to maintain it by hiring thoughtfully and providing thorough training when necessary. You need to be physically capable of lifting and managing large breeds while also being quick and agile enough for the smaller doggies. A positive, cheerful attitude is essential, along with the ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols and instructions—safety is paramount!
You will also be responsible for extensive cleaning and laundry tasks, so a knack for cleanliness is a must. Be prepared to work in all weather conditions and expect to get quite messy during pack walks, especially on rainy days. Daily dog rinsing ad toweling down is also part of the job.
Shifts are usually between 9-4PM. If you’re still interested, you might be just the person we’re looking for! Please send us a cover letter detailing who you are and why you want this position. If you lack related experience, explain why you believe you have the necessary skills for this role. Don’t forget to include a resume, even if it doesn't reflect any direct training.
This job can be challenging and occasionally quite dirty, but it’s also incredibly enjoyable and rewarding if you truly love being around dogs. East Vancouver dwellers or close proximity preferred.
