About This Class:

Be the best at what you do and maximize your business while you are it. Mobile wedding and special event hair artistry is in demand. Everyone and their dog is a makeup artist, but mobile hairstylists, good ones at least, really are a dime a dozen. Makeup artists don’t want to do hair, and hairdressers don’t want to leave their salon. So if you want to expand your business by being the best and on staying on top of the latest trends, this class is for you.

Every bridal season there are clear trends. The most popular wedding hairstyles really stand out and you will find yourself executing them for every other bride you work with. So be the best at them. In this class, we will recap on 2019 which bought two very definite popular hairstyles into the wedding world. Hollywood waves, both retro and modern, and the classic chignon, both classic formal and modern textured. It is inevitable that these looks will remain popular for the 2020 season ahead, so make sure to be great at them by taking this class.

Kit List Needed:
- Model/Judy Head and Clamp (model recommended)
- Duck Clips (small)
- Clip-in Hair Extensions (I will have some to borrow if you do not have any, however, they may not be the correct colour).

Class Schedule:

3.10pm - Introduction
3.20pm - Set hair with hair extensions for retro waves.
4pm - Brush & Style.
4.30pm - Pin one side. This is a great look!
4.45pm - Remove extension and brush like crazy. Reverse curl on the inward curl side for modern waves.
5pm - Quick straighten.
5.15pm - Classic Chignon.
6pm - Shabby it up, modern chignon.
6.30pm - Pack & Depart.

Look #1 “Retro Waves”

Vintage retro waves are in and there is a specific way to do them. So you will need to know what to do. Hair extensions are commonly used for a more dramatic look.
60-75 minutes style time.

Look #2, “Soft Modern Waves”

Many clients think they want retro waves but during the trial it turns out that they don’t. Not many people can pull this look off since it is such a bold style.. You will most commonly be asked to brush the waves out, leaving you with this soft, modern wave. A very popular look in the wedding world right now.
30-45 minutes style time.

Look #3, “Classic Chignon”

This hairstyle became popular in 2019 for the first time. In the past, it was all about curls and texture. Now, brides are wanting straight buns and minimal texture.
60 minutes style time.

Look #4, “Modern Chignon”

Modern hairstyles are all about braids and looking imperfect. While the chignon has certainly come into fashion this year, I have seen a lot of brides requesting braids and texture to soften the do-up.
60 minutes style time.
