Brand new. Factory sealed hub. Didn't know my bike couldn't accept a 700cX28 tire. Can't return it because I bought it at a community bike repair store that doesn't do that. The easiest way to tell whether you're bike can fit a 700cX28 tire, is looking at what's on it now. You can see on the sidewall of the tire, the size. Other than that, it will work with the first two pictures of brakes, where the cable pulls it closed in the center, but won't work on the third picture, of a side-pull 105 brake. The actual size of the rim is 622x20 (6061-T6 Aluminum). It's a long story why they call it 700c, that I don't even want to know all of. I added rim tape on since the picture; a $5 value (cloth tape).
It doesn't have a rear cog of gears on it. I can teach you how to switch the ones you have on your bike over, that way you get to keep the gear ratio you're used to, or I can put on a new cassette ranging from $23-$38 new, or $7-15 used in different ratios; easy for hill climbs, high gears for fast downhill. 8 or 9 speed. Let's see the wear of the cassette you're riding now, and see if a swap is possible. I'll throw in the labour because I want to sell this soon. If we do it together, you can learn how to do it yourself, and what tools you need. I"d like to show you. Pick-up only, or I could deliver if you're on the drive/nearby. Work has to be done at my place though. Only as is, will I deliver, or with my putting on a cassette and you not wanting to know how to do it. :(
