The Hotel Manager and Hotel Accountant will be responsible for the guest experience. You will manage the Front Office operations. You are detail-oriented, professional, well-balanced financial overseer who will be responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial information. The Hotel Accounting Manager will also be responsible for management of the entire Accounting Department, which consists of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and IT.
Effectively communicates our accounting process and financial reporting deliverables with internal parties (property level and regional operating finance teams) and external parties (third-party ownership, lenders, and asset managers).
Manage the execution of all operations in the Hotel (e.g. Front office, Maintenance, Housekeeping) and managing staff
Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, help with bills and accounting
Maintain appropriate stock of supplies and place order with suppliers as required. Review quality and cost of supplies regularly, making recommendations for changes as necessary.
Assist clients with basic supplies as well as special needs
Recruit staff, supervise them and prepare work schedules
Ensure customer requests and feedback, both verbal and written, are responded to promptly and professionally
Coordinates hotel month-end reporting to provide a set of consolidated financial statements to partners, ownership, and lenders.
Prepares real estate transaction journal entries (acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing)
Reviews bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations
Maintains, monitors and reconciles reserve and escrow accounts
Assist with owner distributions
Monitors fixed asset accounting and compliance with policy
Coordinates with third party property tax consultant to ensure timely payment of property taxes
Perform shut-down accounting for sold or dissolved entities
Coordinates all year-end audit activity with third-party audit firm and property level colleagues.
Works directly with corporate accounting and deal team on ad hoc projects
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting or related field required.
6+ years of relevant management and accounting experience.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
Self-starter with the ability to solve problems and provide solutions.
