Group West Construction is an established and growing design-build general contractor specializing in small to mid-sized commercial and industrial renovations, facility upgrades, TI’s, expansions, and maintenance projects across the Lower Mainland. We are looking for a skilled, reliable, individual who can not only execute high-quality work on-site but also act as the on-site lead and connection with our office team.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of construction tasks including: general carpentry, finishing, framing, and minor demolition
- Act as the “eyes and ears” of the office by providing regular updates on progress, issues, and site conditions
- Read and interpret drawings and scopes of work
- Monitor quality control and ensure work meets company standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
- Oversee subcontractors and coordination of supplier deliveries as required
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on field experience
- Strong all-around construction skills (carpentry focused experience is an asset)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Good communication skills and comfort and reporting to office and clients
- Ability to read drawings and understand scopes
- Valid driver’s license
- Practical problem solving abilities and an attention to detail
