I have grown up around animals all my life and so my interest continues to grow. I attended Bellingham Technical College's Veterinary Technician program from which I graduated upon attaining my Associates in Applied Science Degree.
After graduating, I took a different route out of school working in the pet wholesale trade for over seven years. Therefore, I have experience as a department manager with regards to animal care and order fulfillment across Canada. In turn, this job allowed me to learn and work around a vast range of species ranging from birds, small animals, reptiles and fish both fresh and marine.
I have come to see that I enjoy making sure things run smoothly while staying organized. In running a department I know you have to be good at managing your time, multitasking and be able to stay on top of what needs to be done which in turn helps you to anticipate what is coming- skills which I can easily carry into my next career path.
Key Highlights:
Ten (10) plus years in caring for a large range of animals on a large scale personally & professionally.
Seven (7) years as a key holder- I have experience opening and closing of the facility/warehouses.
Seven (7) years of receiving experience in terms of the intake and organization of stock and supplies.
Seven (7) years of inventory experience. This included performing weekly counts and reordering of stock and supplies as needed.
Six (6) years of department management experience Three (3) years of which I managed an entire warehouse dedicated to my department. I oversaw the daily ins and outs of the department including such things as upkeep & staff training.
Six (6) years of customer service experience via phone in regards to order substitution and fill rate questions and concerns.
Strong ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while being able to adapt through multitasking and switching tasks when needed.
