We use MRL calibration tapes, and are dealers for ATR tape. We work on everything from mono tube machines to 2" 24 track studio decks. We generally have 250 or so decks in stock, waiting to be repaired and sold. If you haven't read the 'barn find' article on our reeltoreeltech dot com website, please do. 20 pallets of high end reel to reel equipment hit our shop at the end of January! In addition, we've received in over 50 additional decks since January. We are full up with tape decks!
This listing is for several mastering 2 channel and various multitrack decks that we get in on a regular basis. We generally list decks on Reverb under 'reeltoreeltech' as well as Craigslist here. We update the lists on a regular basis, and if you're looking for something specific, email us through our website please.
We go through each deck we sell with a fine tooth comb, and replace common parts that wear or fail, and test run the heck out of each deck before selling it. We back all of our decks with a 60 day warranty (And we're liberal with that!) and sell around 50-75 decks a year all over North America.
1- Fostex 20 7" mastering deck. Mastering on a budget, with 7 1/2 and 15 IPS. New belt, pinch roller, etc. $600.00
1- Tascam 32. 2 track mastering/audiophile deck. 7 1/2 and 15 IPS, New belt, pinch roller, relays. $1,200
MCI JH-110. Mastering deck, up to 14" reels, 7 1/2 to 30 IPS, fully serviced. $2500.
2- Teac 38 1/2" 8 track reel to reel deck. Fully serviced, new pinch roller and belt, motherboard resoldered. $2,000-$2,300
1- Crown CX-824 1/4 track deck. Recapped, new pinch roller, $3,000
Studer A80 2" 24 track deck. Two available. Fully recapped, new pinch roller, fully serviced and aligned. 100 hours worth of labour to restore one of these units. The pinnacle in analog recording. Starting at $28,000.
Ampex 351 transport with Inovonics 375 preamps. Fully recapped and rebuilt. $2,400. Awesome 1970s vintage sound!
