Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care my mother. This role involves specialized care, ensuring comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience at least 1 month as home support worker onsite and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact to my mother's well being. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering personalized care, supporting daily activities, and fostering care. My mother is a passionate retired teacher from the Philippines and would like to have that connection with another person with teaching experience.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting mental well-being
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary (Filipino food)
Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
Support patients with mobility challenges through proper lifting techniques and assistive devices
Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through caring communication techniques
Document care provided accurately in compliance a log notebook
Assist during appointments, church services, outdoor activities and trips
Qualifications
Minimum 3 months experience as support home worker for female senior is highly preferred
Live-out only, you must have a means commute or arrive at the home on time as per agreed schedule and days
First Aide and CPR certificate
Food safe certificate
Strong care giving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely when required
Experience in meal preparation (Filipino food) and basic cleaning duties is preferred
Home support experience onsite, as live-out staff is preferred
Speaking in Tagalog will be preferable
Experience as a teacher is preferred, to share a common experience with my mother
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Compassionate attitude focused on enhancing the quality of daily routine
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
Work Location: In person, Live-out
