Friends can support friends in many different ways, and one of the ways to support is by being a good Listener. I am offering such friendship for men who are facing difficulties in life and need friends who listen and understand.
These Supportive Listening sessions will not be about mentoring you or giving you advice, but allowing you to speak freely about your own thoughts. My assumption will be that you are a wise leader of your own life, and you will eventually find your path, at your own pace.
I will not try to solve your problems, instead I will ask you questions about your own ideas on how to solve them, creating environment for you to practice self-counseling and to use your own experience and wisdom to handle your situation. At the same time, being an understanding friend. If you need to feel relief by venting your emotions, I will listen with compassion and empathy, respecting confidentiality.
The concept is similar to what is described in the following website. http://www.supportivelistening.org. I am not affiliated with it.
This is not a paid service and this is not a dating ad. If you feel this type of Supportive Listening sessions will be helpful to you, feel free to write me. I will plan for occasional local Group meetings for those interested. About me, I am a man in my early forties in Surrey. I also hope to make some good listener friends for mutual support.
