Tracks 1-1 to 1-9 comprise the album John Cale - Fear (ILPS 9301), released on 1974-09-13. Track 1-10 was recorded during the Fear sessions and appeared as the B-side of the single John Cale - The Man Who Couldn't Afford To Orgy (1974-10).
Tracks 1-13 to 1-17 and 2-1 to 2-5 comprise the album John Cale - Slow Dazzle (ILPS 9317), released on 1975-04-11. Tracks 1-11 to 1-12 were recorded during the Slow Dazzle sessions and are previously unreleased. Track 2-5 is a noticeably different mix at a shorter length [4:15 vs 5:07] than found on the Island editions of the Slow Dazzle CD. It is the version originally available on the UK, Australian and Canadian LP.
Tracks 2-6 to 2-16 comprise the album John Cale - Helen Of Troy (ILPS 9350), released on 1975-11-14. On early copies of that album track 2-14 appeared but on later editions it was subsequently replaced by track 2-18. Track 2-17 was recorded during the Helen Of Troy sessions and is previously unreleased.
Track 2-19 is from the compilation album John Cale - Guts (ILPS 9459), released in February 1977.
