The successful candidate must demonstrate clear alignment with the Christian mission and values of RCAS and bring experience integrating faith into leadership, culture, student development, and organizational decision-making.
Candidates must possess demonstrated international and cross-cultural educational experience. This may include experience working within international schools, globally diverse educational settings, multicultural learning environments, or educational systems serving students and families from varied cultural and international backgrounds. The ability to lead effectively across diverse student populations, cultures, and educational contexts is considered an essential requirement of this role.
The ideal candidate will also bring demonstrated experience in organizational leadership and change management, with the ability to help build alignment, implement strategic initiatives, and support long-term academic and operational development across a growing multi-program educational system.
Pastoral or ministry leadership experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting students, staff, and families within Christian educational or church-based environments.
Job Duties:=
The Vice Principal of Learning Programs is responsible for designing the "academic engine" of RCAS, ensuring a coherent learning model across K–12 divisions. The scope of the role includes:
System Design & Architecture
● Define and map "RCAS Graduate Outcomes" (academic, spiritual, and social) across all grade levels.
● Design and maintain the vertical alignment of course offerings and assessment frameworks to ensure K–7 and 8–12 divisions are integrated.
● Harmonize learning visions across Online, Campus, and Inclusive Education programs.
Program Development & Pathways
● Lead the design and launch of signature programs, including trades-based pathways, specialized academic tracks, and dual-credit partnerships.
● Oversee the integration of specialized supports, including literacy, numeracy, and enrichment, into the core academic model.
Academic Fidelity & Data Discipline
● Develop and monitor metrics for success, including literacy benchmarks, math growth tracking, and graduation data.
● Ensure the RCAS learning model is implemented with high fidelity across all school divisions by providing the blueprints for Principals and VPs to execute.
Education requirements:
● Bachelors degree
● Proficiency in one of Canada's official languages – English
● Teaching Certificate with BC Teachers Regulation Branch
Experience:
● Teachers with at least 5 years of experience is preferred but not a requirement.
● At least 3 years of experience in Leadership in Education.
● Pastoral experience relevant to working with both students/youth and staff.
● Experience in operations and change management
● Fluency in English
