Authentic SunTour VX crank arm set from the respected Japanese component maker SunTour, produced during the golden era of Japanese bicycle manufacturing in the mid-1980s (circa 1984–1988). During this period SunTour components were widely used on performance road bikes, touring bicycles, and were occasionally adopted by riders building Old School BMX upgrades.
These forged aluminum crank arms feature the classic SunTour VX branding, 170 mm crank length, and the less common 110 BCD bolt pattern, which allows a wider range of chainring options compared to the more common 130 BCD road cranks of the time. This configuration made them popular for touring and randonneur builds, where smaller gearing combinations were preferred for climbing and long-distance riding.
Because of their quality Japanese forging and versatile bolt pattern, SunTour VX cranks remain sought after by enthusiasts restoring 1980s Japanese road bikes, touring bikes, and retro BMX builds.
