Rare and historic offering: a set of 7 hand-colored folio plates from the 1847 publication Spanien und die Spanier (“Spain and the Spaniards”), written by Emmanuel v. Guenidas and published by Carl Muquardt in Brussels & Leipzig.
These beautifully illustrated plates depict traditional Spanish regional costumes and character portraits, each with a handwritten German title (e.g., “Zigeunerin” — Gypsy Woman, “Eine Bäuerin aus der Gegend von Salamanca” — A Peasant Woman from the Region of Salamanca).
