We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager to cover for a Manager who is on a leave of absence until October 2026 (possible extension).
The successful candidate must hold a CPA designation with at least 10 years of Manager experience working in public practice.
We are a small, public practice firm located in South Delta! Our firm has been well-established for the past 40+ years. We provide a range of accounting, tax, estate, trust and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses, professional corporations, and individuals.
You should be able to interact with staff and clients in a positive and professional manner, be well organized, be able to multitask and manage continuous client filing deadlines. You are efficient with your time and can demonstrate strong communication skills (written and oral) with co-workers and clients. You will also be a mentor to junior staff.
Responsibilities:
• Finalizing and Reviewing of Compilation Engagements including completion of all working papers, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements in accordance with professional and firm standards
• Preparation and finalization of corporate tax returns (T2), trust/estate returns (T3), and personal income tax returns (T1)
• Assisting and/or training of CPA accounting students
• Tax planning and research
• Knowledge and preparation of GST and other statutory returns
• Preparation of elections T2054 & T2057
• Knowledge of payroll for small businesses
• Preparation of T4's for payroll, T4A's and T5018's for subcontractors, and T5's for dividends/interest
• Other miscellaneous payroll functions for clients
Mandatory Requirements:
• CPA with 10 years Manager experience in public practice
• Proficient in Excel & Word
• Knowledge of CaseWare, Jazzit, Taxprep (iFirm)
• Experience reviewing year end files is a must
