About the Role
The Marine Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on vessels and marine structures. This role requires strong technical expertise in marine electrical systems, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with other trades to deliver high-quality workmanship on new builds, refits, and repair projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, test, maintain, and repair marine electrical systems including AC/DC power, lighting, navigation, communication, and control systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and technical specifications
• Wire and terminate panels, switchboards, distribution systems, and control circuits
• Install and troubleshoot generators, batteries, inverters, chargers, shore power systems, and bonding/grounding systems
• Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs efficiently and safely
• Ensure installations comply with marine standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
• Coordinate work with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet project schedules
• Identify material, tooling, and equipment requirements in advance
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings
• Complete required documentation, inspections, and reports
Qualifications & Experience
• Journeyperson Electrician certification or equivalent experience
• Marine electrical experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems and marine electrical practices
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations
• Experience with troubleshooting and commissioning electrical systems
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
