Californian turned Canadian up here for about a year now. I've been involved in music in California for nearly 30 years, tried to get into potential musical opportunities up here, but the mind was willing and the body isn't anymore. Now that I have more spare time after work and a daughter off to college in Texas, I need to do something to stay busy, so I'm sort of figuring this all out as I go along so bear with me.
While I still have my gear, I'd like to pass on the knowledge, experiences, etc. to anyone willing to put up with me for an hour or two on any given weekend afternoon or evening to learn basic drumming. I was self-taught, so I'm not a "teacher" by any standards but I can show you enough to get you off and running if drumming is something you'd be interested in trying out. I don't have a specific spot to set up and play at, but most local towns have rehearsal spots to rent on an hourly basis.
I'm not looking to make money off of this at all, and I only ask that we split rehearsal space costs. Parents: If you have kids that are interested in playing drums, I have clean background checks and would prefer parents being present. I'm a dad too. :-)
Anyway if interested, hit me up.
