Have a current Asbestos Supervisor certification (per WorkSafe BC regulations) (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3)
3+ years of experience in the Asbestos Abatement field
Possess WorkSafe BC and local hazardous materials policy knowledge
Asbestos Leads are responsible for supervising crew members during the performance of asbestos, mould, lead, and other hazardous waste removals while adhering to company policies and procedures regarding remediation
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in removing asbestos (and other hazardous materials) from ceilings, walls, floors, and other structures
Review job specifications, inspect work site, and confer with contracting agent to evaluate removal project, completing projects on schedule
Prepare Scope of Work and Estimates - including length of time, number of workers, and equipment and supplies required to accomplish project
Ensures all workers are familiar and knowledgeable in safety and removal procedures
Assign and supervise workers in specific tasks, such as setup of equipment and removal and clean-up of asbestos (and other hazardous materials)
Monitor and inspect quality of work during project
Examines workers' equipment, such as respirator systems, air evacuation and filtration systems, and air quality testing devices, to ensure that they meet company and government safety standards
Maintain project records and order supplies
Assist workers in removal activities
Perform various other duties as required
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Be available for overtime

Responsibilities include:
Become familiar with company policies and procedures as it pertains to safety
Be familiar with all current standard safety practices for the safe removal of various hazardous materials
Experience in proper site protection and containment
Familiar with Moderate and High-Risk Asbestos Abatement
Possess proper WorkSafe BC Licensing - Type 1,2,3, and S Asbestos Abatement, lead removal, mould removal, demolition & clean up
Asbestos abatement experience or training is required
Keep an organized file for each project including any correspondence, receipts/invoices, and any other crucial documents
Meet all project deadlines
Be able to wear a respirator and personal protective equipment
Ensure maintenance tasks are routinely and efficiently completed
Certification & Training is required (WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, etc.)
Experience with power tools, sledgehammers, drills, air guns, etc.
Able to meet deadlines and work in a team environment ability to direct and lead team
Conduct field safety meetings
Participate in required industry training, update certifications, and maintain fitness levels as required for the environmental field
Ability to lift 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in confined spaces
Need to be flexible, dependable and reliable
Study and get a successful passing grade for the TDG License, government mandated one
