- This is a SIMON'S Imperial quart pouring container that was used for measuring oil or kerosene out of bulk containers. It was designated as legal measure for trade or commercial purposes for use by service stations and retailers.
- The container is made from tin with a wide pouring lip and a curved strip of metal for a handle.
- Embossed on the upper band is "SIMON'S EASTERN MFG CO. LEGAL POUR COMMERCE LEGAL FOR TRADE 1 QT. 1.1 LITRE PINTE"
- Believed to have been made c. 1930s to 1950s.
- Simon's Eastern Mfg Co. was located in Waterloo ON, Canada.
- Measures ~8 inches total height x ~4 inches diameter x ~7 1/2 inches across spout and handle
It has been cleaned but has some discoloration from corrosion and could possibly have the band shined up for display if do desired. Some denting on front of side wall. A great piece of Canadian made auto service memorabilia from another age!
