This rare, investment-quality antique chifforobe was manufactured by the prestigious Toronto-based firm Jacques & Hay (active 1835–1885). This piece was purchased new by my grandfather and has remained in our family ever since, preserved in exceptional, unrestored condition.

Jacques & Hay was one of the most significant furniture makers in Canadian history, known for supplying high-end pieces to Rideau Hall and the historic Spadina House.

• Material: Solid mahogany with a stunning, vibrant wood grain and an elegant inlaid wood design.
• Hardware: Features all original brass hardware with beautiful patina.
• Condition: Unrestored and in remarkable shape for its age.
• Identification: Authenticated by a black "107" stamp on the back, corresponding to the manufacturer's style/catalogue number and a gold Jacque & Hay label with the motto: "the aim for perfection."
