Marked with "K.F.L." indicating the barrel was used by Kraft Foods Limited. Other markings indicate the barrel was used in 1971 by federally registered dairy plant # 19; in the province of Ontario for the storage of Medium Cheddar Cheese.
The barrel was likely used for storage of a 40 to 50 lb. cheese wheel.
Measures 14 1/2" high x 16 1/2" diameter.
The barrel is constructed of paperboard sidewall and rims with wooden ends. The barrel is in good overall condition with considerable strength still left in the sidewall. As you may see from the photos the markings are still very visible which provides the history of this vintage container.
Rare to find one of these in this condition. A great piece to add to your vintage display or to dress up your deli or any food establishment where cheese, and especially Canadian Cheddar, is an important element!
Asking $85 OBO.
