- BAT 158 lanterns were produced from 1952 to 1989 by VEB Sturmlaternenwerk Beierfeld or its predecessors in the German Democratic Republic.
- The BAT 158 is a structural clone of FH 275. The renaming was a result of abandoned rights to the Feuerhand trademark.
- Earlier lanterns were marked Made in Germany. After 1972 it was changed to Made in the GDR.
- This pre-1972 lantern is in amazingly good condition. No signs of any damage to the lantern or to the glass globe. Wick is intact and the globe lift movement works. Gold paint over what appears to be the original red paint.
Asking $75.
