Antique Northern Electric Type N317-F Wall Telephone
This antique and original wood crank telephone was made by Northern Electric Company Limited in Canada.
The phone box is made of tiger oak and the handset of bakelite. The model number, N317-F, is impressed on the inside near the bottom of the door. The original schematic diagram is also attached on the inside surface of the door and is date stamped August 13, 1914.
Receiver is marked "PAT. 1918 134". Voice transmitter is marked "PATENT 1910 PATENTED IN U.S.A."
The telephone is complete; the crank handle turns and the bells ring! Please refer to the photos for more information on condition.
This telephone was removed from the Okanagan Falls Hotel during renovation and is believed to have spent it's entire life there. Likely a simple restoration for the person wanting to return it to operating condition!
The back mount measures ~20 1/2" high x ~9 3/8" wide. Telephone extends ~14 3/4" from wall.
A fantastic display or conversation piece when mounted on the wall!
