Most campervans are built for summer travel. The Ski Chalet was built for winter. Designed from the ground up as a fully off-grid cold-weather living space, it allows you to follow snowstorms, park slopeside, and live comfortably in conditions that would stop most vans entirely, without compromising warmth, refined design, or daily usability
What makes The Ski Chalet different
• Built around the realities of winter travel, from wet gear to freezing overnight temperatures
• A dedicated heated drying locker ensures boots, gloves, and outerwear are warm and ready every morning
• Hydronic air and in-floor heating, combined with high-performance insulation, create a quiet, consistently warm interior even in harsh winter conditions
• Exterior ski and board storage keeps the interior clean while maintaining quick, secure access
• A dedicated Aqua-Fire vapor fireplace adds a natural flame ambiance, transforming the space after a day on the mountain
Design & Atmosphere
• The interior of The Ski Chalet was designed to feel warm, quiet, and composed, even in the middle of winter. Natural materials, including microcement surfaces and walnut cabinetry, soft lighting, and a restrained palette create a space that feels more like a modern alpine interior than a vehicle.
• Every surface and transition was considered to reduce visual noise and create a sense of calm, allowing the space to feel comfortable for extended stays, not just short trips. The result is a space that remains calm and inviting, whether parked slopeside in a storm or settled in for a quiet evening.
Interior Experience
• The Ski Chalet is designed to support both daily living and extended stays in cold environments, with a layout that prioritizes comfort, usability, and flow. The main living area offers a comfortable, composed space to relax, work, or unwind, with seating arranged to feel natural rather than purely functional.
• The kitchen is fully equipped for off-grid living, with ample storage and workspace to support real cooking rather than short-term convenience. Throughout the interior, systems and storage are integrated to feel intuitive and unobtrusive, even when coming in from the cold.
• Sleeping accommodations transition seamlessly from the main living space, maintaining both comfort and openness without disrupting the overall layout, with an integrated projector setup for relaxed evenings indoors.
• The design also adapts easily to warmer seasons, with flexible storage that allows winter gear systems to convert for summer use, including integrated space for the included electric scooters.
Engineering & Capability
• The Ski Chalet is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter AWD platform, selected for its reliability, drivability, and year-round capability in challenging conditions.
• Its electrical system is designed for true off-grid living, anchored by a 618Ah lithium battery bank that self-heats, Victron power components, solar charging, and high-output alternator support. This allows for extended stays without reliance on external hookups.
• Climate control is handled through a powerful hydronic heating system with multiple heat exchangers and in-floor radiant heat, paired with a dedicated air conditioning system for warmer conditions. Together, these systems allow the van to remain comfortable across a wide range of environments.
• Every system has been designed and installed with long-term usability in mind, prioritizing reliability, serviceability, and ease of use.
The Ski Chalet represents a unique opportunity to acquire a thoughtfully designed, winter-capable off-grid vehicle without the wait associated with a custom build.
It has been carefully built and lived in, with real-world use informing its design, refinement, and functionality.
