"OCELOT" Is a beautiful illusive cat rarey seen in it's former habitat of S.Texas/Mexico but still ranges in South America.

Hand Painted by Nancy using "Fur or Feather Technique" for animals fur or feathered birds.
Also from this book I taught my students using Fur or Feather Technique on class projects like: Timber Wolves, Ocelot, Fox Squirrels Young Fox and Yellow Ducklings.

*** Overall size: H 9 1/4" x W 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" deep AND inside drawer 7 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"...
Wood pieces is Pine 1/4" for most areas, others 1/2" drawer front and 3/4" book end (refer to photo).
Shape is a Book with pull out drawer and stands upright or lay flat on surface. >>> I have not been able to fix the drawer from falling out if you hold it the wrong way..... I even went to Lee Valley for expert help and not one thing would do!!!

Has been washed with Spice Brown and some parts solid basecoated... Main area I used sea sponge and Vibrant colors of Blueberry picking up Black and then working dirty sea sponge for a suede look --- new sea sponge carefully / lightly p/u Wedgewood Blue for hightlights.
--- Fur strokes are colors are Delta sCeramcoat of Black, Burnt Umber, Spice Tan, Trail Tan then to lighter Fur Strokes of Quaker Grey, Old Parchment, Magnolia White. --- Ears fur strokes of little Gyspy rose w/ fur strokes of main colors... Nose is Gyspy rose w/shad of black, dry brush Quaker grey.
---- Eyes + eyelid is Spice Tan w/Burnt umber w/Black. Pupils black shad/black next to pupil to soften the pupil...Burnt umber, Butter yellow, Quaker grey, Old parchment --- Whiskers Black, Old Parc. Mag. white.
****I would often to back and adjust the colors of Fur strokes, details in Eyes, Nose, Ears + Whiskers.
