This is such a unique portrayal of the Bald Eagle, and this image captures a macro look at the most identifiable characteristics of this majestic bird.
Dreamcatcher ranks among Mangelsen’s most popular photographs because while it reads visually as an artistic image exploring different shapes, colours and textures, it offers an intimate glimpse into a symbol found across most of North America.
Mangelsen doesn't use any digital manipulation of photographs and has shown his work at several art galleries and museums. His work has been featured in National Geographic, on PBS, and it’s in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
I've loved this photograph since the first time I saw it, in a Mangelsen gallery. I absolutely hate to part with it and it's been a very difficult decision. My pictures really don't do the photograph justice and they certainly don't show how it commands a room.
