Seeking an experienced Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operation at a new rail services shop in Squamish, guiding the organization through strategic financial planning and analysis. Offering an excellent sary in the range of $105,000 to $125,000 plus excellent benefits including 4 weeks of paid vacation, RRSP plan and other incentives.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE:
This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, structured thinking, leadership capability, and prior experience operating within well-organized financial environments.
> CPA designation (Canada), active and in good standing.
> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
> 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
> Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience (audit or assurance preferred).
> Private sector experience is an asset.
> Experience in project-based, construction, engineering, or operational environments strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal control development. You will work closely with Executive Leadership, Project Managers, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, disciplined project accounting, and strong governance practices.
> Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
> Prepare and review financial statements (ASPE / IFRS as applicable).
> Lead external audit coordination and serve as primary liaison with auditors.
> Oversee corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance (GST/HST, QST).
> Ensure payroll tax compliance (T4, RL-1, source deductions).
> Manage project-based accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition.
