The Personality and Emotion Research Lab is located in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby, B.C., Canada. The Director of the lab is Dr. Alexander L. Chapman, a professor and registered psychologist. At the Personality and Emotion Research Lab (PERL), our goal is to better understand the difficulties that people have in regulating or managing their emotions. Emotion regulation is what we all do change emotions we would prefer not to have, increase emotions we want, and express emotions in a way that works for us.
