What are your creative ideas to give these perfectly good, except for some thin areas, socks an extended life for another purpose?

I can't bear to throw them in the garbage.

I believe in conservation in all things.

I tried some repair - see photo - but, alas, my skills in this area are limited!!

How about for puppets or storm cuffs for winter jackets or stuffing for ....?

Much loved socks for reuse in another life. What ideas do you have?
