Ambit cafe is a fresh cafe concept that will be serving delicious healthy food during the morning and busy lunch period, located in the Kensington Plaza area of Burnaby.
Cafe Manager/supervisor: Wages to be discussed ( depends on experience)
This position is responsible for all aspects of Ambit Café. Quality of food, beverage, service and atmosphere when operating the cafe on a day to day basis. The Cafe manager will directly supervise all staff and report to Ambit cafe ownership.
While developing the team in becoming better employees for the company, the cafe manager will work closely with the team to ensure optimum product quality. The cafe manager must ensure effective purchasing and inventory controls are in place and must maintain all operational budgets while providing a high-quality dining experience for all guests.
Essential functions :
1)As the leading Ambassador for Ambit cafe, you will lead the team, plan, coordinate, execute, supervise and evaluate all activities of a fast-paced cafe, and provide excellent service to a wide variety of guests needs.
2)Oversee all aspects of daily production and quality control of all food and beverage items.
3)Direct and organize staff regarding production, presentation and service.
4)Control cost for the food and beverage programs within the established guidelines including being involved with all inventories.
5)Hire, train, supervise and schedule Cafe staff. Ensure that staffing levels meet the necessary need for providing great products and services.
6)Development of staff, inventory procedures, and monitor safety and sanitation standards. Motivate staff, resolve staff issues and promote a positive work environment.
7)Play a key role in the production, including hands-on and supervisory responsibilities. Ensure that all food and beverage is produced in a timely and efficient manner while meeting Ambit cafe standards for taste, quality and appearance by utilizing proprietary recipes. Work in an active production capacity, as necessary.
8)Conduct regular physical inventories of all stocked items, coordinate the ordering of food, beverage and all supplies, prevent excess stocking, and ensure ongoing stock is in line with the cafe’s requirements.
9)Maintain a flexible work schedule in order to be available for busy service times in the counter, while completing all other work-related responsibilities. Ensure high visibility and availability to guests and associates.
10)Understand, promote and apply the Ambit Cafe business vision while communicating with the team and guests.
