OPERATIONS MANAGER
Future General Manager Opportunity

Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus Opportunities

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Bright Future Brands is a fast growing growing home services company operating throughout British Columbia across moving, storage, cleaning, junk removal, and specialty transportation services.
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of the business and support our next stage of growth.
This role is ideal for someone who wants more than a traditional Operations Manager position. We are looking for a future business leader who enjoys solving problems, building teams, implementing systems, driving accountability, and helping grow a company.
For the right candidate, there is a clear opportunity to progress into a General Manager role with increased responsibility, compensation, and leadership exposure.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
*Operations & Logistics*
• Oversee daily operations across multiple service divisions
• Coordinate crew scheduling, dispatch, truck allocation, and resource planning
• Review upcoming jobs and ensure operational readiness
• Monitor labour utilization, efficiency, and service quality
• Resolve operational issues and customer escalations
• Ensure jobs are properly planned, staffed, and executed
*People Leadership*
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop employees
• Conduct coaching, performance reviews, and accountability discussions
• Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Support hiring initiatives and workforce planning
• Identify and develop future leaders within the organization
*Training, Compliance & Accountability*
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve training systems
• Ensure all new hires complete structured onboarding and role-specific training
• Monitor employee competency, training progress, and performance
• Drive adherence to company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Conduct audits and quality control reviews
• Lead corrective action and performance improvement initiatives where required
• Ensure operational standards are consistently followed throughout the organization
*Sales Support*
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure operational feasibility of booked work
• Support complex estimates and project planning
• Improve communication between sales and operations
• Monitor customer experience and service delivery
• Support accountability and performance within the sales team
*Warehouse & Asset Management*
• Oversee warehouse organization, cleanliness, and operational standards
• Ensure equipment, inventory, and supplies are maintained and available
• Coordinate fleet readiness and operational asset management
• Conduct regular inspections and operational audits
*Systems & Process Improvement*
• Develop and improve operational systems and workflows
• Assist with the creation and implementation of SOPs
• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
• Improve communication, efficiency, accountability, and consistency
• Build scalable systems that support future growth
*Business Development Support*
• Support strategic partnerships and growth initiatives
• Assist in developing relationships with key referral partners and complementary service businesses
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer experience
• Drive and support business-to-business outreach initiatives and relationship development
• Assist in identifying, pursuing, and closing commercial contracts and strategic partnership opportunities
• Support in-person estimates, customer meetings, and business development activities as required
• Help establish and grow referral relationships and strategic partnerships that contribute to revenue growth
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations management, logistics, dispatch, transportation, moving, restoration, construction, home services, or a related industry
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable and drive results
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
• Experience managing field-based teams, extra bonus for logistics experience
• Experience with scheduling and dispatch systems
• Experience developing training programs and onboarding systems
• Experience working with KPIs and performance metrics
• Experience supporting sales and customer service teams

WORK LOCATION & HOURS
This is an office-based leadership role located in Burnaby, BC.
Standard office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Alternative office schedules such as 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 10am-7:30pm may be considered to accommodate commuting and personal commitments.
As a leadership position, flexibility is required. Occasional work outside standard office hours will be necessary to support staff, customers, operational priorities, and business growth.
