- “BEACON” stamped into the upper collar on the top front and back.
- “MADE IN CANADA” is on the base.
- “GUARANTEED WIND PROOF” is marked on one side of the base and “GSW QUALITY” on the other.
- Made by General Steel Wares (GSW) a Canadian company that was formed in October 1927 and produced Beacon lanterns until sometime in the 60s..
- Measures 14.5" high and 20” to the top of the handle. The base is 7" in diameter.
- Red glass chimney is embossed No. 20 E
- Lantern has not been tested; but, all moving parts move easily. The top is spring-loaded to hold the glass firmly in place.
The lantern itself is in new pristine condition; wick not installed and fuel never filled. Display piece only. Unfortunately the red glass chimney has a crack near the base.
