We are a Chartered Professional Accounting firm located in Metrotown, Burnaby BC providing a full range of services and engagements to a well-diversified portfolio in various industries including not for profit. Our services include but are not limited to audit, assurance, compilation, bookkeeping, tax and other accounting and tax-related services. We are currently looking for an intermediate / senior level staff member to join our team. This position is best suited to a well-rounded candidate with public practice experience in Canada who possesses excellent communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform year end audits of financial statements (NPOs)
- Perform year end reviews of financial statements (private and NPOs)
- Prepare year end compilations (private clients)
- Prepare corporate tax returns for our private clients
- Prepare Non-profit organization (NPO) information return
- Prepare Registered charity information return
- Prepare personal tax returns and others
- Prepare payroll, GST, PST and WCB – these are minimal
ABOUT YOU:
As the ideal candidate, you are an Intermediate/Senior Accountant with a solid background in public practice:
- Possess a great attitude and willingness to take on new tasks and challenges
- Excellent communication, organizational and client service skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Post CFE or CPA designation preferred but not mandatory
REQUIRED:
- Experience in a public practice firm in Canada
- Experience in handling Audits, Reviews and Compilations
- Knowledge of ASPE and ASNPO
- Experience using both Caseware and Caseview
- Experience with Personal and corporate tax preparation
- Strong computer skills and proficient using all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook and experience using a tax program
HYBRID WORK:
After completing a three-month probationary period (excluding April due to personal tax season), an employee may request to work from home up to two days per week.
COMPENSATION:
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 / Yearly based on experience
Vacation: 3 weeks in addition to BC statutory holidays and firm-designated days off
Parking or transit: monthly parking or transit allowance are available
Benefits: Health & Dental plus Health Spending Account allowance
Professional Development: providing in-house PD and CPABC PD to meet your annual requirements
Fitness: monthly allowance is available
